Young Creatives was an ambitious, youth-led creative skills development programme designed to inspire and empower 150 young people in Milton Keynes over a two-year period.
Milton Keynes College delivered the programme in partnership with Offset Project and in consultation with MAKE and the Arts and Heritage Alliance MK.

The programme reached 1500 children and young people through audience engagement in a diverse range of events and activities. It was funded by Artswork and Milton Keynes Council.

The programme used ‘education to create opportunities, champion talent and build fairer futures’, and it was committed to working in collaboration with partners, employers, and the community and linking young people to professionals who would guide and motivate them. It was invested in the power of creativity as a vehicle to build better futures for MK College students, the impact of which can be seen through its Personal Development Programme and the growth of student numbers in the School of Arts and Media for 2022/23.
Young Creatives used creative and cultural activity to develop transferable skills such as teamwork, confidence, communication, digital literacy, resilience, and innovation. The partnership believes these skills and behaviours contribute to young people’s sense of well-being and to their future success in education, training and in fulfilling careers. 120 Discover Arts Awards have been achieved and 16 Bronze awards completed. The recipients of these awards connected with over 1000 people through public events. This was an incredible achievement for all involved.
